Why so many states acted in 2025 and 2026
Sweepstakes casinos grew by using a two-currency model to argue they are not gambling. Regulators disagreed, and between August 2025 and November 2026 at least ten states passed explicit bans. Most target the "dual-currency" model directly, and several reach payment processors and app distributors too. Read our 2026 bans explainer for each law.
What a ban means for Juwa players
- Distributors may stop serving your state without warning, freezing balances.
- Payment apps can close accounts used for gambling transfers.
- Some new laws add penalties for promoters and distributors, and in a few states for participation.
